Grand jury reaches resolution in Patrick Beverley assault case

A Fort Bend County, Texas grand jury returned a no bill in the assault case against former NBA player Patrick Beverley on Monday, according to court records. The 37-year-old had been facing one felony charge of assault on a family/household member impeding breath/circulation over allegations he punched and choked his teenage sister during an ugly dispute in November, but Beverley’s attorneys told The California Post that the grand jury’s decision helps prove his innocence.
