An ex-gym teacher and girls’ basketball coach in the Bronx allegedly brought his 14-year-old student to a motel and raped her after a game, prosecutors revealed in a stomach-turning indictment. Jayvone Johnson, 35, was indicted on Wednesday for a slew of charges, including second-degree rape and sexual abuse, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl who previously played on the girls’ basketball team he coached, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced in a statement. Johnson was arrested in December for the disturbing assault that took place a year prior while he worked as a “physical education specialist” and a middle school basketball coach at the Icahn Charter School 2 in the Van Nest neighborhood, according to his LinkedIn profile.
