76ers offer a surprising reality check on Knicks’ expectations

There always seem to be a few extra dollops of agita around the Knicks this year, a few extra helpings of acid indigestion. Part of the reason there seems to be a chronic discomfort plaguing those who most care about the Knicks is self-evident: there really has been a dearth of comfortable days for them so far this season. And it doesn’t help that one of those days that did seem destined for a chaise lounge, a frozen drink and a fat stogie — a night when they were 15-point favorites at home against the tankapaloozing Pacers — wound up going terribly sideways.
